Digestive Disorders

During a water-only fast, the gut lining has an opportunity to rest and heal. This process can provide relief from symptoms related to a variety of digestive disorders. Careful reintroduction of health-promoting plant foods after a fast is essential to repopulate healthy gut microbiota. Ongoing research will explore changes in the microbiome in fasting patients to better understand these healing mechanisms.
